COMMENTS:

    Today's ride was one of contrasts: weather (again), topography, and vegetation all in a matter of a few hundred miles on US 180.

    Same story with the weather where we started with a threat of storms early but never got a bit of rain even though it was all around us. By the end of the day it was just plain hot (97) but not as hot as Vegas will be (116 tomorrow).

    We started off in the high plains cruising at around 5500' in pretty much semi arid conditions and climbed up to 9000' in The Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and San Francisco Mountains which span the New Mexico/Arizona border. On the other side we dropped down into desert and heat.
